LA Weekly columnist Lina Lecaro described Ingenue as a "superstar drag diva." Ingenue feels that title is due to TigerHeat. "Being the hostess of the number one gay club on the West Coast has its privileges," she admits. It is a job she is most proud of. She hosts and emcees every Thursday alongside fellow host Christian Wheel.
Ingenue started her career at Flirt, TigerHeat's former campy Sunday night event. Since then, she has gone on to make a name for herself throughout Los Angeles. Her fun-loving nature and energetic emceeing have kept her employed. "Being known as a nightclub hostess and working continuously every week is a dream," she says. She has hosted everything from party brunches to teen parties to TigerHeat Las Vegas to "OUT on the Mountain" at Six Flags. She also hosts and emcees the Dreamgirls Revue (SoCal's best drag show) and does regular gigs at The Sassy Show, As If, and of course all events TigerHeat.
In 2008, Ingenue won her first WeHo Award for "Outstanding Drag Diva." In 2009, she did it again, winning the awards back-to-back! Other career highlights include becoming West Hollywood's Sassy Prom Queen 2007 and working with Lady GaGa twice.
"Having GaGa at my home club of TigerHeat was an absolute thrill. I remember talking to her in our Jerry Lewis suite after she performed. She was so giddy to be with us. It was infectious. In fact, the man standing next to me couldn't stop raving about her and our club. His name? Will.i.am! Only at TigerHeat, darlings!"
Although so many notable entertainers have taken to the TigerHeat stage, Ingenue herself has performed there as well. During the holidays, she loves serenading Santa Claus or Hunky Santa (played by her official escort-to-the-stage Josh). But it is her Sue Sylvester number from TigerHeat's "Glee" night that most remember. "I consider myself a hostess first, performer second," she reveals. "But when I perform at TigerHeat, I try to do something extra special. Turning this Barbie doll into Sue was a hoot!"
No one in the LA gay community would dispute that Ingenue currently reigns as the "Hostess with the Mostess." But, she thanks TigerHeat for that, especially DJ Ray Rhodes. "Everything that I learned about hosting he taught me. And this "superstar drag diva" has one thing left to say, "It is my honor to be a part of the TigerHeat family because I am so very proud of our club!" With that, we'll see her on the TigerHeat stage.
